As part of the park's Waves of Honor program, military personnel and up to three direct dependents are allowed a free visit.

SeaWorld San Diego will bring back exciting rides and roller coasters next week after operating as a zoo, hosting food festivals and offering a once-in-a-lifetime special event in an effort to keep the theme park partially open during the year-round coronavirus pandemic. The returning SeaWorld range of rides will include the Electric Eel and Manta roller coasters, the Tentacle Twirl wave swing and several rides for children at Sesame Street Bay of Play. The new Emperor roller coaster, which opened last year at SeaWorld San Diego, will open at a later date.
